Dr. Wayne R. Knowles, Dr. Kay White Installed to Lead South Leeward Conference
Amid musical celebrations of praise and thanksgiving, Dr. Wayne R. Knowles and Dr. Kay White were installed as president and executive secretary of the South Leeward Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (SLC) during a special Sabbath service held January 17, 2026, at the Bible Speaks Seventh-day Adventist Church, St. John's, Antigua.
Hundreds of church members, along with executive committee members, pastors, and local leaders, gathered for the historic service. The occasion marked the first time in the Caribbean Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (CARU) that the office of executive secretary is held by a female pastor and the first time a conference administration includes two women serving together.
The installation service was led by Dr. Kern Tobias, president of the CARU, assisted by fellow union administrators Pastor Johnson Frederick and Pastor Bertie Henry.
With their installation, Drs. Knowles and White now join Dr. Krista M. S. Moore, treasurer of the South Leeward Conference, completing the newly constituted administrative team responsible for providing spiritual, organizational, and financial leadership across the territory.
